&lt;p&gt;Mullenbawn water pumping station is located approximately 2&amp;nbsp;km from the town of Fethard Co. Tipperary&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2&gt;Facility Function:&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Mullenbawn pumping station pumps water from a borehole to a resevoir to supply freshwater for the surrounding area&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;h2&gt;Annual Energy Consumption:&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Site uses approx 420 Mwh per annum at approx €45,000&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2&gt;Main Energy Consuming Equipment&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Mullenbawn has two large water pumps that operate at a pumping efficiency of 60%. There is a duty pump and a standby pump as the site runs 24/7.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2&gt;Cost and Energy Savng Actions&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1. Installation of a varible speed drive (completed in July 2007)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The powerfactor of the site was very low inccuring approx 800 euro of wattless charges per annum. Installation. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The pumps were running slghtly higher volume than required, which is now controllable.&lt;/li&gt;
